Loving My Misssion!
Alyse is loving her mission. She had her first baptism the end of January. She said it was such a sweet experience and couldn't have been more perfect. She spoke at it and sang at it with other sisters. Other missionaries who had worked with this woman were allowed to come to the baptism also. The same week of the baptism Alyse and her companion picked up two more investigators and she says one of them is just awesome and will probably be their next baptism. She has been doing lots of service, tracting, and teaching. Her testimony is growing all the time. She recently spoke in Sacrament meeting and did the sharing time in primary the same day. She said it went really well. Transfers have happened again and her companion and trainer was transferred. She misses her but loves her new companion and says she is awesome! Things are going well and she sounds so happy!

The Month of December.
After a week and a half on bed rest Alyse was back to work. She is feeling great now! In Dec. she sang at a live nativity with other missionaries. She also sang with other missionaries at the Creche her Stake held. She attended a Christmas Devotional that the mission held, as well as Zone Conference, and a Sisters activity. She was excited to attend the LA Temple on a Mission Temple day with the rest of the mission but because of really bad weather it was cancelled. She has enjoyed teaching the Gospel Essentials class in her ward as well as teaching with her companion at District Meetings. She has spoken at a baptism. She and her companion are still busy tracting, and working with all their investigators. They have one who has committed to baptism the end of January and she hopes the baptism will really happen. The members and investigators all took really good care of her over Christmas and she had a wonderful Christmas. The high light of my Christmas day was talking with her on the phone. She said talking with the family was her best Christmas present. She is happy and working hard. Her testimony is growing all the time. She promises to send pictures and when she does I will post them.

Tracting, Preaching,Teaching, Being Sick.
Alyse is loving her mission. She has done a lot of tracting and met some very interesting people. She will have some funny stories to tell when she gets home of all the interesting people she is meeting. She has had the opportunity of preaching the gospel to some of them. She has also had many opportunities to teach. She and her companion (who she really likes and says she is a great trainer and that they work very well together and get a long really well also) have 10 people in there teaching poole right now. Some of them are not members of the church, some are married to members but not members themselves, and some are members but not active. She has enjoyed meeting these people and teaching them. She and her companion have invited them to be baptised or to become active again. Since Alyse has been there two of them have committed to being baptised. She is so excited about it and proud of them for keeping all the commitments they have made so far. This past Sunday all but two of the people they are teaching were at church and that made her very happy! Alyse has also been really sick for the past week and was put on bed rest. So for Thanksgiving she had to stay home. The people who had invited them to dinner brought dinner to them though and visited with them for a while. Alyse thought that was very kind of them and she really appreciated it. This week she is allowed to keep the appointments they have to teach but she is still not allowed to tract. She sees the Dr. again on Thur. of this week and will hopefully be given a clean bill of health. She is in the high desert area of her mission so even though it is California it is very cold. Alyse's testimony is growing all the time. In every letter or email she always bears a sweet strong testimony of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior Jesus Christ, as well as of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. She also expresses gratitude for everything. She says the mission is sometimes really hard but she still loves it and is grateful for the opportunity to serve.

Alyse Arrives in California
Alyse left the MTC Tues. Nov. 9th for California. She was met at the airport by her mission president and his wife. She traveled with 12 Elders but she was the only Sister. After leaving the airport they went to Glen Helen Park at the mouth of the Cajon Pass. There they were told of how the area was settled. Then they were off to the mission home where all the missionaries were interviewed, taught about vehicle safety, and about financial aspects of their mission. Then they were introduced to their trainers. They all enjoyed a barbecue together and got to relax a little bit. Following the barbecue they headed out to their areas and apartments. Alyse was very excited to be in the field. She is ready to work hard and serve the Lord. The pictures are of her with her mission president and his wife, all the new missionaries at the mission home, and all the missionaries at the airport .

Alyse at the MTC
We have heard from Alyse and she is loving the MTC! Her departure date to California will be Nov. 9th. This picture is of her in front of the MTC . She enjoyed the ride down to Provo with 3 of her 4 siblings and her parents. They shared memories of her and gave her advice they learned on their missions. Alyse felt it was such a blessing that her new niece came almost four weeks early and was born on the morning she left. So she got to see her on her way down to the MTC. She is loving it so far!

On My Way
I have decided to go and serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was about two years ago I really decided to go on my mission. Boys go when they are 19 and girls can go with they are 21. I am 23 and just now going out. It took me a little longer to grow up. I am very excited to go out and serve! I am 96% excited and 4% nervous, or maybe it's 4 % excited and 96% Nervous but that's the fun in it all!! I will keep ya'll update once a week when I write home my lovely mother will post my next 18 months of my life! Thank you all for your love and support! I love you all!! God Bless!

'As I stare out the window, the tears still in my eyes, I see my family and those I love as we have said our last good-byes. The ride is long and tiring and two questions plague my mind, Do I want the life that is up ahead or the one I left behind? Two years is a long, Long time for going door to door. In my reflections I think to myself ' There really must be more!" As I stepped down off the plane I stared smiling at the beach, When a man turned me the other way saying, "Elder, go find and teach"
'And now I sit reflecting as this day is my last, "please Lord, this isn't fair, the time goes by so fast" As I look out the window, the tears still in my eyes, I see the Elders and those I love as we have said our last good-byes. The ride is long and tiring and two questions come to mind... Do I want the life that's up ahead or the one I left behind?"
